Cook: 35 to 40 minutes


  • 4 cups of cake flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 375 ml lukewarm milk
  • 100 g melted butter
  • 2 eggs

Beat eggs into milk, mix all together, either by hand or mixer with dough hook, or bread machine set on dough.
When mixed, put into oiled bowl and cover, allow to proof to double in size.
Roll a large rectangle, cover with about 50 g more melted butter, fried onions, with fried bacon, sprinkle on the melted butter, add cheese of your choice, roll up, cut into 3 cm slices.
Pack in a sprayed or oiled and floured deep oven tray, put a little more cheese on top, bake in preheated oven 190ºC for approx. 35 to 40 minutes (depends on your oven).
Same dough can be used for donuts and cinnamon buns, just add 100 g castor sugar to the enriched dough recipe. It also makes awesome rolls.
