BACON HOCK SOUP
Delicious!!
- 1 bacon hock (smoked pork – the end of the leg bit, average weight 1,5-2 kg)
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 onion, grated
- 1 potato, grated
- 1 zucchini, grated (baby marrow)
- salt and pepper, to taste
Put everything in slow cooker, cover with water and cook on high till hock is soft and nearly falling off the bone. Remove from soup and pull skin off the meat and debone, add the meat then back to the soup.
Add a little salt, but not too much as the hock is smoked and add pepper to taste.
