OATS PORRIDGE IN THE JUNGLE
This porridge made with oats, bananas and cinnamon is a favorite breakfast of ours. It’s hearty, warming, and tastes delicious!
- 3 ½ cups water
- 1 cup oats
- 1 tablespoon white sugar or to taste (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste (optional)
- 1 or 2 bananas, sliced
- ¼ cup of sultanas or raisins
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- ½ cup cold milk (optional)
- golden syrup or honey
Combine the water and oats in a saucepan, season to taste with sugar and salt.
Add the bananas, sultanas and cinnamon and bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer until the liquid is absorbed, stirring frequently (7 minutes).
Pour the porridge into bowls and top each with a splash of cold milk or golden syrup or honey.
