BACON BILTONG

Ek sal aanraai die wat die resep gaan probeer om dalk net 2 eetlepels sout en dan 2 eetlepels witsuiker gebruik. Ek het die resep gevolg en nou geproe dis bietjie baie aan die souterige kant. So vir die wat nie baie van souterige biltong hou nie, raai ek dan om ‘n sout en suiker mix eerder te maak. Ek gaan dit vir die volgende probeer slag so maak.

  • 1 kg back bacon
  • 4 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoons chilli spice
  • 125 ml white vinegar

Place a layer of bacon in a glass dish.
Sprinkle with dry spice mix.
Place next layer of bacon.
Spice and repeat till all bacon are spiced.
Sprinkle vinegar over.
Cover with plastic wrap and rest for 4 hours.
Hang to dry, approximately 2 days.

Note:
I replaced the pepper and chilli spice with 3 tablespoons honey en pine glaze.
