SWEET AND SOUR SAUSAGE BAKE
Ek het rooi en geel peppers gestir fry en by die klaar sous gevoeg. Dink die kleure sou verdwyn as jy dit van die begin af bygesit het. Ek het varkworsies gebruik en dit was net so lekker.
Sampioene is ook ‘n goeie opsionele item. Die asyn kan na my mening vermeerder word, dis nie heeltemal genoeg na my smaak nie.
- 500 g Boerewors
- 125 ml light brown sugar (or white)
- 30 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 125 ml tomato sauce
- 30 ml brown vinegar or more to taste
- 5 ml instant coffee powder
- 3 large onions, peeled and sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
Arrange the sausages in a large ovenproof dish.
Mix the remaining ingredients in a heavy based saucepan, bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Pour mixture over the sausages and bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for about 40 minutes. Serve with mash or pap.
Optional:
Add some stir-fried sweet yellow and red peppers and/or mushrooms and mix into the dish just before serving.
