SAVOURY SAMP
- 500 ml samp
- 7 ml salt
- 10 ml oil or butter
- 250 g bacon, chopped
- 250 g mushrooms
- 250 ml mayonnaise
- 125 ml cream (I use milk instead – about 2 – 3 cups)
- 1 packet white onion soup powder
- 1 packet mushroom soup powder
- 250 ml Cheddar cheese
Pepper to taste.
Boil samp with salt until cooked.
Heat oil in a pan and fry bacon and mushrooms until brown.
Mix mayonnaise, cream, soup powder and cheese in large mixing bowl.
Add the samp, bacon and mushrooms and season with pepper.
Spoon mixture into dish and bake for about 60 minutes or until brown on top.
