GINGER PICKLED FIGS
Bietjie iets anders probeer as die gewone vye konfyt of ingelegde vye. Het die resep probeer en dis defnitief iets anders.
- 6 figs, halved lengthwise
- ¾ cup water
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Place figs in a pint-sized mason jar.
In small sauce pot, heat water, vinegar, sugar, ginger and salt over medium-high heat.
Cook until all sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally (do not boil).
Remove from heat; pour mixture over figs.
Let jar stand at room temperature for 30 minutes then cover and transfer to the fridge.
Chill completely before serving.
Note:
Can be served on crackers with cheese.
