DUMPLINGS IN CINNAMON SAUCE
Today I made dumplings in cinnamon sauce for pudding.
- Sause:
- 1 litre water
- 15 ml butter
- 5 ml cinnamon
- pinch salt
- 250 ml sugar
- Dough:
- 500 ml cake flour
- 15 ml baking powder
- 1 ml salt
- 2 large eggs
- 125 ml milk
- cinnamon sugar
Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease an ovenproof dish with butter.
Bring all sauce ingredients to a boil and simmer for three minutes. Set aside and keep hot.
Sift all dry ingredients. Rub butter into dry ingredients to resemble bread crumbs.
Mix milk and eggs together and add into dry ingredients to make a dough.
Put spoonfuls of dough mixture into hot sauce.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, cover with lid and bake for 40 minutes.
