CHAKALAKA BROODJIE / BREAD
Kan ook muffins maak – Mini Chakalaka broodjies gebak. Heerlik, die klein broodjies neem 30 min.
- 500 g (780 ml) koekmeel
- 10 ml bakpoeier
- 5 ml sout en peper na smaak
- 4 eiers
- 410 g Chakalaka (matige geur /sterker geur indien verkies)
- 125 ml Cheddar kaas, gerasper
- ± 100 ml melk, indien nodig en opsioneel
Voorverhit oond tot 180°C.
Sif droë bestanddele saam.
Klits eier en Chakalaka.
Meng eier mengsel met droë bestanddele, indien die deeg te styf is kan bietjie melk bygevoeg word.
Plaas deeg in gesmeerde broodpannetjie en strooi gerasperde kaas bo-oor.
Bak ongeveer 45 minute by 180ºC tot die toetspen skoon uitkom.
CHAKALAKA BREAD
- 500 g (780 ml) cake flour
- 10 ml baking powder4 large eggs, beaten
- 5 ml salt and pepper to taste
- 125 ml grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 can mild Chakalaka
- about 100 ml milk, if necessary and optional
- selection of cheeses, pâtés and fruit to serve with the bread
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Stir in the remaining ingredients except the cheese.
Add a little more milk, if necessary.
Spoon into a greased loaf tin, add the cheese on top.
Bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean at 180 ºC.
Cool on a wire rack and serve the sliced bread with a selection of different pâtés, cheeses and fruit.
