AIR FRYER VETKOEK
Made vetkoek in air fryer with aniseed yeast dough. Works pretty well and not as oily as deep frying. Served with pea soup for dinner.
- any yeast dough
Put dough on floured surface and push flat or roll to about 2 cm thick.
Cut or press shapes (the one I use to press out scones work well if you want small vetkoekies).
Place on a baking sheet brushed with oil.
Cover and allow to rest and proof for about 30 minutes.
Preheat air fryer on “airfry” setting at 180°C.
Once warm, give the basket a good brush with oil and carefully lift the dough with a flat spatula and place in the air fryer basket.
Brush the top of the dough with oil. Air fry for 10 minutes (this could vary depending on the size of vetkoek and make of air fryer), turn after 6 minutes, brush again with a little oil and complete the Airfry cycle.
We were very happy with the results and will definitely do it again.
