COFFIE STEAK
“I could not find pork chops in the freezer… so I used steak…but it came out amazingly!! I used a Food Lovers Recipes recipe posted for pork chops and adjusted it; it was delicious!
- 4 – 6 steaks (t-bone, 500 g each)
- 250 g all purpose flour, mixed with barbeque spice and aromat
- 15 ml mixed herbs
- 10 ml curry powder, mild
- 5 ml chilli flakes
- 30 ml instant coffee powder
- 30 ml oil
- 5 teaspoons brown sugar
- 500 ml boiling water
- 200 ml white vinegar
- 50 ml maple flavoured syrup
- 1 packet brown onion soup powder
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
- 30 ml butter
- black pepper, to taste
Flavour the meat with flour mixed with the spices. Shallow fry the meat in a pan until golden brown.
Place the meat in an oven proof dish.
Brown the onion and garlic in a pot. Mix all the other ingredients, add to the pot and cook until thickened.
Pour the mixture over the meat, cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes at 160 °C.
Serve with sides of your choice.
