“I could not find pork chops in the freezer… so I used steak…but it came out amazingly!! I used a Food Lovers Recipes recipe posted for pork chops and adjusted it; it was delicious!

  • 4 – 6 steaks (t-bone, 500 g each)
  • 250 g all purpose flour, mixed with barbeque spice and aromat
  • 15 ml mixed herbs
  • 10 ml curry powder, mild
  • 5 ml chilli flakes
  • 30 ml instant coffee powder
  • 30 ml oil
  • 5 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 500 ml boiling water
  • 200 ml white vinegar
  • 50 ml maple flavoured syrup
  • 1 packet brown onion soup powder
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 30 ml butter
  • black pepper, to taste

Flavour the meat with flour mixed with the  spices. Shallow fry the meat in a pan until golden brown.
Place the meat in an oven proof dish.
Brown the onion and garlic in a pot. Mix all the other ingredients, add to the pot and cook until thickened.
