JOAN’S APPLE TART

- Dough:
- 250 ml sugar
- 250 ml flour
- 5 ml baking powder
- 45 ml margarine
- 3 eggs
- 2 ml salt
- 80 ml milk
- 1 tin pie apples
- Cream sugar and eggs very well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Add melted margarine and milk to the sugar mixture, mix well.
- Add the flour mixture and mix well.
- Place the dough into pre – greased baking ovenproof rectangular bowl.
- Spread the apples evenly onto the mixture and bake for 35 mins at 180 ºC.
- Syrup:
- 200 ml sugar
- 100 g margarine
- 190 ml milk
- Boil the syrup 10 mins before the tart is ready.
- When you take the tart out off the oven, pour the hot sauce over the hot tart, separating the sides with a knife so that the syrup can flow all around.
