JOAN’S APPLE TART
- Dough:
- 250 ml sugar
- 250 ml flour
- 5 ml baking powder
- 45 ml margarine
- 3 eggs
- 2 ml salt
- 80 ml milk
- 1 tin pie apples
Cream sugar and eggs very well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add melted margarine and milk to the sugar mixture, mix well.
Add the flour mixture and mix well.
Place the dough into pre – greased baking ovenproof rectangular bowl .
Spread the apples evenly onto the mixture and bake for 35 mins at 180 ºC.
- Syrup:
- 200 ml sugar
- 100 g margarine
- 190 ml milk
Boil the syrup 10 mins before the tart is ready.
When you take the tart out off the oven, pour the hot sauce over the hot tart, separating the sides with a knife so that the syrup can flow all around.
