PIZZA DOUGH WITH YOGHURT
School closed early in KZN today and I had to get something ready quick. Pizza was the easy option. This dough is so easy and it tastes better than any pizza dough from the store.
- 1½ teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- ¼ cup of warm water
- ¾ cup milk
- ¾ cup plain yoghurt
- ¼ cup of sunflower oil
- 4 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast, sugar and warm water. Leave for 10 minutes.
Add the rest of the ingredients and form a soft dough.
Leave to rise in an oiled dish for 2 hours. Form the dough into pizza basis and put on a greased baking tray.
Place toppings of choice on each and bake at 200°C for 10 minutes.
Note:
I used chicken fillet, cooked with peri peri spice, and topped with gouda cheese because that’s what I had available.
Yields 4 medium sized pizzas or 3 large.
