YASMEEN’S CHURROS

After trying out many recipes with no satisfaction, I finally did it on my own and this one is great. Lovely, crispy and fluffy churros. Do try.

  • Churros:
  • 2 cups water
  • 125 g butter
  • 2 ½ cups cake flour
  • pinch salt
  • 4 eggs
  • oil for frying
  • Chocolate Sauce:
  • 1¼ cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1½ tablespoons cake flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup sugar

Bring water and butter to boil, add salt. Switch off and add flour.
Beat eggs one at the time and incorporate in your mixture. Mix well after each addition.
Let mixture stand for ½ hour. Put in a piping bag, pipe out and deep fry.

My chocolate sauce is made by boiling 1 cup of the milk, add the vanilla essence and sugar.
Once boiled, mix the flour and cacao with the rest of the milk and add to the boiling milk while stiring all the time.  Simmer for one or two minutes. Remove from heat and enjoy.

Enjoy the churros with cinnamon sugar and chocolate sauce.
