SIMPLE RUSKS

  • 750 g cake flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 375 grams of butter or margarine
  • 1 cup of sour milk (Inkomazi)
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar or 3 tablespoons of honey

Sift dry ingredients into a large dish.
Rub in margarine or butter until resembles bread crumbs.
Whisk eggs, sour milk and honey or sugar together.
Make a dough. Will be like a scone dough.
Roll into balls and place next to each other in a prepared pan.
Bake at 180 ºC for 45 min.
Remove from oven and slice into rusks.
Pack open on the oven shelve in a single layer.
Reduce heat to 100 ºC and dry out until crisp.
