ROOI SLAPHAKSKEENTJIES

  • 1.5 kg klein uitjies
  • 250 ml gebleikte sultanas, opsioneel
  • 150 ml suiker
  • 250 ml wit asyn
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 blik tamatiepasta
  • 50 ml kookolie
  • 2 ml sout
  • knypie rooi peper

Skil die uitjies.
Plaas al die bestanddele in ‘n kastrol en plaas die deksel op.
Kook oor lae hitte vir 1 uur.
Haal deksel af en kook verder totdat sous dik is.
Skep uit en bottel in gesteriliseerde flesse.

RED COOKED ONION SALAD

  • 1.5 kg small onions
  • 250 ml bleached sultanas, optional
  • 150 ml sugar
  • 250 ml white vinegar
  • 250 ml of water
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 50 ml cooking oil
  • 2 ml salt
  • pinch of red pepper

Peel the onions.
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and put the lid on. Cook over low heat for 1 hour.
Uncover and cook till the sauce is thick.
Bottle in sterilized jars.
