PEACH TART

PEACH TART

  • Batter:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup of milk
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tin peach slices

Cream butter and sugar together.
Mix eggs in with electric mixer until fluffy and light.
Add milk, flour, salt and mix.
Add baking powder last mix well.
Batter must look like cake batter. Pour in a greased baking tin and arrange the peach slices on top and slightly press them into the batter.
Volume of baking dish must be big enough to take the syrup.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180C° for 20 minutes (longer if double) or until golden brown and test pen comes out clean.

  • Syrup:
  • 1 tin of Ideal Milk
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 dessert spoons butter (25 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

Cook all together for 5 minutes.
Pour syrup over tart as soon as it comes out of the oven. Make sure syrup is poured over whole tart.
Serve with whipped cream or warm custard.
