MILKTART WITH PUFF PASTRY CRUST
- 4 cups milk
- 6 tablespoons cake flour
- 2 tablespoons Maizena
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 6 eggs
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 puff pastry
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- cinnamon powder
Mix the sugar, flour, Maizena and salt together. Warm the milk in a pot with the stick cinnamon (don’t forget to remove the cinnamon before putting into tart bowels).
Add the dry ingredients and mix until smooth and thick.
Take the pot off the stove and add butter and egg yolk.
Wisk egg white in a separate bowl until stiff. Fold the egg white into mixture in the pot.
Roll out the puff pastry and place in bottom off tart bowl. With a fork push a few holes in the puff pastry. Now add the mixture into Pyrex /tart bowl.
Heat oven at 220 ºC. Put tarts in for 20 min then turn down to 150 ºC for remaining 10 min.
Sprinkle cinnamon over tart when it comes out.
Note:
I used 20 cm tart bowls and make 3 tarts.
