MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE
Winter has suddenly arrived and we needed something to help fight the cold and nothing beats a cup of hot chocolate.
- 2 cup milk
- 225 g semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 cup cream
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (more if you like it hot)
Break the chocolate bar into large chunks.
Combine milk and chocolate in a sauce pan over medium low heat.
Stir continuously. Once chocolate is fully melted, increase heat to medium and add cream, cinnamon, nutmeg and cayenne pepper.
Simmer for 5 minutes or until desired thickness is achieved.
Pour into mugs and add toppings of choice.
