- 2 cups of cake flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup of maas (to make maas: take 1 cup 250 ml milk, add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice leave for 5 min)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- oil for baking
- 1 cup desiccated coconut
Bring sugar and water to a boil and allow to cool. Put in die fridge to get very cold.
Sift the flour and baking powder together.
Rub butter into sifted dry ingredients.
Add maas and mix until it’s a soft dough.
Cover with cling film and let it rest for 2 hours.
Roll out and plait, deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
Dip in cold syrup and roll in coconut.
