MALAWI SHANDY
“Very good on a hot, sticky day. In South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia, a rock shandy is made up of half lemonade, half sparkling water, and ice (usually with a few dashes of Angostura bitters).”
- 200 ml ginger ale
- 200 ml lemon-lime soda
- 1 dash bitters
- 1 slice orange
Pour equal parts of ginger ale and lemon soda into a beer mug filled with ice.
Add a round of orange and top with a dash or two of bitters.
Note:
In Southern Africa, a popular variation is the Malawi shandy, which is made with ½ lemonade, ½ a can of ginger beer, and a few dashes of Angostura bitters.
