MACARONI- AND TUNA BAKE
- 1 x 500 g macaroni, cooked according to instructions on packaging
- 2 – 3 tins tuna* (drained – keep the water)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green pepper, finely chopped
- pinch of mixed herbs
- Sauce:
- 1 packet of cream of mushroom soup powder
- 2 cups of water (use the tuna water also if preffered)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup of grated cheese
Cook the macaroni and set aside.
Mix the tuna, onion, green pepper and mixed herbs with the cooked macaroni.
Sauce:
Cook the water and soup powder for 10 minutes and then mix in the mayonnaise and grated cheese.
Mix with the macaroni.
Cook for five minutes.
Spoon into an prepared oven proof dish.
Add the grated cheese on top and bake for 45 minutes at 180 °C.
*Remember, the tin volumes are smaller these days (2022 comment)
