KLEINPLASIE’S MILKTART
- Short Crust Pastry:
- 200 g margerine (ek het botter gebruik)
- 500 ml cake flour
- 5 ml salt
- 10 ml baking powder
Rub margarine into dry ingredients.
Add small quantities of cold water to make a soft dough.
Roll out and place on the base of a large, flat black pan.
- Filling:
- 1 litre milk
- 125 g margarine
- 3 or 4 pieces cinnamon
- ½ cup Maizena
- ½ cup cake flour
- 5 ml salt
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 6 eggs
Heat milk and margarine and cinnamon in a pan.
Remove from heat.
Mix dry ingredients with a little milk and egg yolks.
Stir into the hot milk mixture.
Return to the heat at low to thicken, stirring all the time.
Remove from heat and fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour the filling over the pastry.
Bake at 180 ºC until brown.
Nota van Carol:
Melktert (Ek het gevra vir ‘n stywe melktert met bros deeg)
Hierdie melktert is perfek.
Ek het vla poeier bygevoeg vir smaak. (so 2 eetlepels)
Ek sal volgende keer vanilla geursel byvoeg.
