HOMEMADE CHEESE AND GARLIC ROLLS
Hello cooks. Hope you all had a good day. So, on this lovely sunny afternoon we had a lovely snoek braai with fresh homemade rolls and a green salad. Thank you, Lord, for your blessings.
- 8 cups cake flour
- 2 packets of instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup of oil
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 cups cold milk
- grated cheese
- butter
- fresh garlic
- fresh or dried parsley
Mix dry ingredients and oil together.
Mix hot milk and cold water together and work into dry ingredients bit by bit until a dough is formed, if dough is too wet add a little bit of flour to get the right consistency.
Place in a bowl covered with cling wrap and let it rise, double in size, it will take an hour to hour and a half.
Knead again, break off pieces and make balls placing these on a floured baking tray, let it rise again for 30 minutes to an hour before baking.
Bake at 160 – 180ºC depending on your oven for about 20 minutes.
Note:
I have sprinkled cheese on some of the rolls before baking and for the others I made melted butter, garlic and parsley mixture and brushed over when rolls were still hot.
