COPYCAT MCDONALD’S BIG MAC
Why go to McDonald’s for a Big Mac when you can make your own, using fresh ingredients from your own kitchen. So GOOD!!
- Sauce:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons French dressing
- 1 heaped tablespoon sweet relish
- 3 teaspoons dill gherkin pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- For the burgers:
- 1 kg lean beef mince; form into 12 thin, large patties
- salt and pepper
- 12 Hamburger rolls, 6 tops and 12 bottoms
- butter
- shredded lettuce
- dill gherkins
- minced fresh onion
- 12 cheese slices
- olive oil
To make Sauce:
Combine all the ingredients, cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Burgers:
Season the patties with salt and pepper and rub with a little olive oil.
Fry in a non stick pan until done. Top with cheese slices; add a splash of water and cover with a lid, heat until the cheese is melted.
Butter the insides of the rolls and toast on a non stick pan over medium-high heat. Set aside.
Put sauce on the buttered side of each bun then on the bottom and middle one, put onions, pickled gherkins and lettuce.
Top with a patty. Stack them together.
Serve hot with a side of fries.
