CARAMELIZED ONIONS AND APPLES
We are still eating leftovers, gammon with caramelized onions and apples on creamy mustard mash poptatoes and lettuce salad.
- 2 large onions, sliced
- half a tin of unsweetened pie apples
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- oil for shallow frying
- slices of leftover gammon or meat of your choice
Fry the onions until its translucent then sprinkle with brown sugar and allow to caramelize.
Add the pie apples and heat through.
Remove and keep aside while frying the gammon slices ( or meat) to heat up.
Add the onions and apples and heat through.
Serve on creamy mash potatoes with grainy mustard stirred through.
