ANTOINETTE’S PERFECT BASMATI RICE

You’ll note that using the microwave does not save time off the traditional stove-top method, but faster is not the issue here, better is.
- 1 cup unrinsed Basmati rice
- salt
- 4 cups boiling water
Put rice and boiled water in a big microwave-safe dish and cook on high, uncovered, 15 minutes, strain and rinse under cold water in a sieve.
Leave rice in sieve until ready to serve, return rice to the dish and cook on high 5 more minutes.
Fluff with a fork.
