ZELDA’S WORS CURRY DISH WITH DUMPLINGS
Just made some lovely wors curry on this cold evening.
- 1 medium sized onion
- ±20 cm long raw wors
Chop and fry the onion.
Cut raw wors into small pieces about 3 cm each.
Add to onions and fry until brown.
- Add the following:
- chutney, to taste
- sweet chili sauce, to taste
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 sachet tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam
- salt to taste
- 4 medium potatoes cut into cubes
- 1 cup mixed diced vegetables
Mix all together.
Add about a cup of water and let simmer until done.
Serve on Basmati rice.
With the cold weather approaching I made my wors curry with dumplings today.
- Dumplings:
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
Rub butter into flour, baking powder and salt.
Add beaten egg and a little water to make a fairly stiff dough.
Drop teaspoonful of dough into the pot and cook with lid on for about 15 minutes.
Note:
DO NOT LIFT LID DURING THE 15 MINUTES.
FOOD MUST BE COOKED BEFORE PUTTING DUMPLINGS IN TO POT.
