YEAST DOUGHNUTS WITH GLAZE
- 3 cups of cake flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons yeast
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 125 g Rama margarine
- a pinch of salt
- 1 cup of lukewarm milk
- oil for deep fry
Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl.
Cream the butter into the dry ingredients, add the egg to it.
Warm the milk. Add the milk to the mixture.
Knead for 10 mins. Allow to rise for 30 mins – 1 hour.
Roll out the dough and shape it into circles.
After doing that, cover it allow it to rise for 2 hours before frying it in the warm oil, not to hot.
After frying it dip the doughnut into your choice of coating.

- Vanilla Glaze
- 45 ml wooden spoon botter (43 g)
- 1¾ koppie versiersuiker (210 g)
- 5 ml vanilla geursel
- 45 ml melk
Smelt die botter in die mikrogolfoond.
Meng die versiersuiker saam met die gesmelte botter, vanilla en melk in ‘n medium mengbak.
Verdeel in kleiner bakkies en voeg koekkleursel van jou keuse by.
- Sjokolade Glaze
- 1 koppie versiersuiker
- 45 ml kakaopoeier
- 45 ml melk
- 2.5 ml vanilla geursel
Sif die versiersuiker en kakapoeier saam.
Voeg stadig die melk en vanilla by die droë bestanddele en meng goed.
Dip die donuts in die glaze en versier met 100’s en 1000’s.
