TWO INGREDIENT DOUGH
Made some easy, soft naan as an accompaniment to a curry hubby made for supper.
This 2 Ingredient Dough is super easy and so versatile.
I don’t like using plain yogurt as no.1 I don’t always have it in my fridge and no.2 when I do, its eaten before I get ’round to using it. I also don’t always have buttermilk or Amazi available either but if you like, any of those can be used. I, personally, use milk as I always have it on hand and it’s economical.
- 4 cups selfraising flour
- 2 cups full cream milk
- 1 tablespoon each vinegar and oil
Warm the milk to just below boiling and add the vinegar and oil. Set aside for 5 min (Homemade buttermilk). Slowly add just enough “buttermilk” to the flour to form a soft, pliable dough. Knead for about 5 min and use. You can use it to make naan, rolls, bread, pizza base, bagels etc.
To make naan, pinch off golf ball sized dough and roll into a very thin “pancake”.
Bake in a dry medium-hot nonstick pan until done.
Spread the warm naan with butter or brush with olive oil and enjoy.
