SARDINES ON PIZZA
Raid the pantry during lock down day 4 😂sardines on pizza. Amasi (buttermilk) and self raising flour base with tinned sardines, mushrooms, red onion, capers and Cheddar.
I used the recipe below but replaced yogurt with Amasi and it worked perfectly.
- 1 tin of sardines (oil and bones goes to the dogs kibble)
- 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
- ½ a red onion, sliced
- couple of drained capers
- 1 cup of grated Cheddar cheese
- ¼ of a cup of tomato puree
- 1 clove of garlic, grated (stir into tomato puree)
Make the dough as per recipe. Line a baking sheet with tin foil, spray or spread with olive oil and sprinkle with mieliemeel or polenta. This gives the pizza base a nice crunchy crust.
Roll out the dough between 1 to 2 cm thick. Spread the tomato paste over dough with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle the cheese. Now add the toppings and bake at 180°C for about 20 minutes.
