PICKLING SPICE
Robertsons pickling spice has been discontinued a while ago. However, our chef has put together an alternative recipe for our consumers. The recipe below uses mostly Robertsons whole or ground herbs and spices – these may be purchased individually and then blended accordingly.
- 2 tablespoons whole coriander seeds
- ½ teaspoon Robertsons crushed chillies
- ½ teaspoon Robertsons whole cloves
- 1 ¾ tablespoons mustard seeds
- 1 ¾ tablespoons Robertsons whole pimento
- ½ teaspoon Robertsons bay leaves (need to grind these)
- 1 tablespoon Robertsons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon Robertsons ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon Robertsons ground black pepper
Mix all the ingredients together and keep in ‘n air tight container.

Going to try. Converting an old recipe for Ginger Pickles which calls for 1/3 box. What was the weight in ounces for a box?
Hi Anna there was 12 ounce (340g) boxes and also 1.5 ounces (42g). I Hope that helps, I think you must use it according to the other quantities in your recipe.
