PEARS POACHED IN SPICED GRAPE JUICE
Made some yummy poached pears for dessert.
- 6.5 litres of red grape juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 2 star anise
- 6 pears, peeled
Combine grape juice, spices and pears together in a large saucepan over a high heat.
Bring to the boil, cover with a lid, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, set aside and allow pears to cool in cooking liquid.
Serve it with ready-made custard.
