Hi All. Being back in the country is time for wholesome winter cooking .
I love Oxtail and many people don’t like it because it takes forever to cook soft and tender. Steam pot to the problem and in 30 to 35 min it will be soft.

  • For this dish you need:
  • 2,5 kg oxtail

Put it into your steam pot with water covering half of the meat and two blocks beef stock. Bring to a boil and close the pot and cook for 30 min.

  • Ingredients for the sauce:
  • 8 bananas, chopped into small pieces
  • 3 large onions, chopped finely
  • 6 teaspoons curry, mild or hot your choice
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 4 teaspoons turmeric
  • 2 cups tomato sauce

When the meat is cooked, add the sauce and allow to cook slowly at 160°C for another hour to 2 hours until the sauce is thick . I like it with mash and vegetables. Enjoy!
