KRISTIE’S CORNDOGS WITH MAIZENA
- 1 cup maizena
- 1 cup flour
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 8 wooden sosatie sticks
- 8 classical Russians
In a mixing bowl add the maizena, flour, baking powder, white sugar and salt and pepper.
Mix in the egg and milk into the dry ingredients, till a smooth mixture form and there are no lumps.
In a big pot add the sunflower oil till almost full.
Put on full heat and let it heat up.
If the oil is hot, dip the Russians into the batter till covered thickly, and fry in the oil for three minutes, till golden brown.
Place on a kitchen cloth for the oil to drip off.
Serve with mustard, honey may also be added.
Nota:
Net bietjie meer melk kan bygevoeg word as die deeg nog te dik is. Moet loperig wees, maar nie soos melk nie. Worsies moet met kombuispapier afgedroog word as dit nat is, dan klou die deeg mooi om die worsie.
