KETO BARBEQUE SAUCE
As I’m using this ingredient in tonight’s dinner, I thought I’d share the recipe…keto/low carb BBQ sauce! This is a gorgeous sauce that can be used in anything – like tonight’s bbq chicken casserole. Or over eggs. Or sausages. Or pizza. The only carbs in this recipe come from the tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce (and maybe your chosen sweetener). Very very tasty and if you are not keto/low carb, just replace the sweetener with brown sugar to taste.
- 170 g can tomato paste
- 2 x 170 g tin water (use the tin to measure)
- ½ of 170 g tin apple cider vinegar (use tin to measure)
- 125 ml sweetener to taste (adjust to your liking as sweeteners differ)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 pinches dried cloves
- ½ teaspoon ginger, powdered
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- 1 ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
Add all the ingredients into a pot, stir and simmer for 30 – 40 minutes.
Cool and store in the fridge.
