Cook: 20 minutes | Servings: 6 rolls

So delicious with a burger patty or just with loads of butter and a cup of tea.

  • 3 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 ¼ cup of warm milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ cup cooking oil
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups cake flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • Poppy seeds to sprinkle

Add the yeast, milk and sugar in a large bowl, stir and put aside for 10 or more minutes.
Mix the egg and cooking oil in a mug or small bowl and combine with the yeast mixture.
Add the dry ingredients to the yeast mixture and mix into a soft dough.
Cover the dough and leave to rise for 1 hour.
after the first rising, roll into balls and leave it for about 30 min on the baking tray to rise again whilst the oven heats up.
Break pieces of dough off into 6 parts and form a round shape with your hands.
Place the dough rolls on a prepared baking sheet, let it rise for about 30 min and brush each roll with beaten egg, sprinkle Poppy seeds on top and bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 20 minutes.
