IDEAS FOR DRIED LEMON SLICES OR PIECES

Odette Coates:
I asked the other day for ideas for lemons … and wanted to share one of the things I have made with them! Simply dried them out in the oven like rusks and will bottle them then use in my Gin and Tonic.
Sliced and dried in a super low oven overnight. Turned once.
You can use them to season soups, stews, meat and fish dishes, etc.
And you can blend them down to a powder and make a flavoured salt. Lots of uses it seems!

Petro Borchard:
I also dehydrate slices of limes and lemons from my trees.
As far as the peel goes – I prefer to microplane the lemons over a bowl of either salt or castor sugar to also catch the oils released in the process. No need to dehydrate those, it keeps well in sealed bottles on the shelf to use in baking or cooking later.

Elsabie Templeton:
I add to sauces, put on top of fish or chicken that you bake in oven. You can even go as far as mincing the dried lemons then use your coffee grinder to powder and mix with salt to use as a condiment and make a batch mixed with sugar to sprinkle over desserts.
