HUNGARIAN TARTS

  • 250 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 3 cups of cake flour
  • 4 teaspoons Moirs baking powder
  • 450 g jam of your choice

Beat butter, sugar, vanilla essence, eggs and oil until smooth.
Add sifted flour and baking powder. Add more flour if necessary, to make a nice biscuit dough.
Layer half the mixture onto a greased oven tray.
Spread jam over.
Lastly grate the remainder of the dough on the top using an ordinary cheese grater.
Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
Cut into slices as soon as it comes out of the oven and allow to cool completely before removing from tray.
Sprinkle icing sugar on top.
