HOMEMADE DOUGHNUTS
Very easy to make and has a lot of variations
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 extra large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 4 tablespoons softened butter
- 6 teaspoons sugar
- oil for deep frying
Mix all ingredients together and knead to form a soft dough. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
Form into shapes. Whatever you prefer.
Put a pot on the stove and heat the oil, not to hot, if you drop a piece of dough into the oil it must rise to the top immediately.
Fry the formed doughnuts till ready and brown, place on a rack to drain the extra oil.
Use toppings of your choice or fill with cream when cooled down.
Note:
I used melted chocolate on some. Fresh cream on others and filled some of them with jam. You could also use a glazed or cinamon sugar if preferred.
