HEAVENLY STEAK IN SLOW COOKER
Heavenly steak, sirloin, mushrooms and onions topped with Cheddar in coconut cream in slow cooker for 3 hours and served on fettuccine. Perfect comfort food. The men loved it and did not even mind that I used the braai meat for this.
- 1 kg sirloin steak or steak of choice cut into 1.5 cm thick pieces or as prefered
- 2 onions sliced
- 1 packet mushrooms, chopped
- cake flour with spices
Mix flour with spices of your choice and roll the steak into the mixture, shaking off the extra flour.
In the slow cooker pot, pack layers with meat, onions and mushroom.
- Sauce:
- 200 ml milk
- 1 can coconut cream
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chutney
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 package white onion soup powder
- 1 cup grated cheese
Now mix the following except the cheese.
Warm up the sauce ingredients before pouring over meat in slow cooker as coconut cream is solid when you scoop it out of the tin.
Sprinkle grated cheese on top and cover with the lid.
Put slow cooker for 3 hours on HIGH.
It worked perfectly, I served it on pasta.
Enjoy!
