HAM AND CHEESE SAVORY TART
- Crust:
- 200 g Provitas, finely crushed
- 150 g butter, melted
- Filling:
- 30 ml oil
- 15 ml butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 250 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 100 g ham, chopped in small pieces
- 45 ml fresh parsley chopped or 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 2 extra large eggs
- 250 g smooth cottage cheese
- 30 ml flour
- black pepper and salt to taste
Combine the crushed Provitas with the butter.
Press firmly onto the bottom and sides of a greased 20 cm tart dish.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200ºC for 5 minutes. Remove and leave to cool.
Lower the oven temperature to 180ºC.
Heat the oil and butter together.
Add the onion and the mushrooms and fry until golden and soft.
Add the garlic and fry for 1 minute.
Add the ham and parsley and set aside.
Beat the eggs and mix with the creamed smooth cottage cheese.
Sift the flour in with the egg mixture and mix well.
Add the onion mixture to the egg mixture and seasoning to taste.
Spoon into the prepared crust.
Bake for 30 minutes or until set.
