GEMMERPOEDING VIR WINTER
Maak die deeg aan in die bak waarin die poeding gebak gaan word. Bak moet omtrent ‘n inhoud van 2 liter hê.
- 1 eetlepel sagte margarien
- 1 koppie appelkooskonfyt
- 1 teelepel koeksoda
- 6 eetlepels hoogvol bruismeel
- knippie sout
- 1 teelepel fyn gemmer
- 2 teelepels asyn
Meng alles deeglik en maak gelyk in bak.
Strooi 1 koppie bruinsuiker oor rou deeg en dan 3 koppies kookwater.
Bak in oond teen 180°C tot gaar. Poeding maak dik sous onder in bak.
Bedien met roomys of vla.

GINGER PUDDING FOR THE WINTER
Put the dough in the bowl in which the pudding is to be baked. Baking should have a capacity of 2 liters.
- 1 tablespoon of soft margarine
- 1 cup apricot jam
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 6 tablespoons self raising flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of fine ginger
- 2 teaspoons of vinegar
Mix everything thoroughly and make level.
Sprinkle 1 cup of brown sugar over raw dough and then add 3 cups of boiling water.
Bake in oven at 180°C until done. Pudding makes thick sauce in the bottom.
Serve with ice cream or custard.

Hello there. Do you use one cup of jam? and how much does one batch serve?
Hi Pauline, yes it is 1 cup of smooth apricot jam, and it is 6-8 portions, the pudding on the photo was a double recipe.
