ELIZE’S EASY CHICKEN PIE

Easy, quick, economical but not losing on taste….the best Chicken pie ever…..

  • Boil the following together:
  • 8 chicken pieces
  • 1 potato, cubed
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 stock cube
  • 600 ml water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chicken spice
  • ½ teaspoon caraway seeds
  • Add:
  • 100 ml frozen peas
  • Maizena or mushroom/white onion soup powder

Boil the ingredients in a pot, remove chicken when tender.
Remove all bones and cut into pieces, put chicken pieces back in pot.
Add the peas and thicken sauce with Maizena or mushroom/white onion soup powder.
Put mixture in a casserole dish.

  • Pastry:
  • 125 ml milk
  • 125 ml sunflower oil
  • 1 egg
  • 200 ml cake flour
  • 10 ml Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Beat all ingredients until smooth, pour over chicken mixture.
Bake at 200° C until brown and done.
About 20 – 30 minutes.
