When you not in the mood of baking, but you need to make something quick.
- 2 cups of cake flour
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 80 g butter
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of buttermilk or sour milk or full cream milk
Mix dry ingredients together. No sifting required.
Rub butter into dry ingredients to resemble breadcrumbs.
Beat the egg and mix with the buttermilk and make a soft dough.
Divide into six equal parts. Roll into a ball brush with egg or milk.
If you need more scones divide into more parts.
Bake at 190°C for 12 minutes or until done.
