EASY “KRUMMELPAP”
- 2 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups maize meal
In a medium sized pot, bring the water and salt to a boil and simultaneously add the maize meal to the water, don’t stir.
Close the lid and let the “pap” simmer for 5 minutes over very low heat.
After 5 minutes, open the lid and stir the “pap” lightly with a fork.
Replace the lid and let it simmer again over low heat, lightly stirring it every 10 minutes with a fork, until the “krummelpap” is nicely formed and fine.

Hi Daleth, we normally work on 2 people per cup of maize meal, but all depends on the serving size and what other food you serve with the krummelpap. Safely 4 portions

For years Iv been eating Miele Pap but could never figure out how to “Krummel” it, until I tried your advice. Every one loved it and came out perfect. Just needed to go a little longer than 10min with 1/2 cup water extra. Big thanks to you……
wait. right after I followed the three steps of adding “THREE” cups of maize meal to “TWO” cups of boiling water. I noticed I have been pranked.
is it supposed to be swapped? because it was just half wet maize and still so powdery I improvised, by adding some more water. but just don’t want someone else doing my same balls-up. wait How’d the other 6 review do it like that… gave it a one, because amounts does not make sense. if o misunderstood please help me right

I dont know where you have went wrong, but the recipe is perfect. You boil the water with the salt, and while it boils, turn the heat down and pour the maise meal in the middle of the boiling water until the maize is a little heap and the top is sticking out. DONT STIR.
Put the lid on, the water wil now boil around the pile of maize. Keep the heat low and let it cook vir 5 – 10 min. Now with ‘n big fork, just mix ligtly to get the krummels. Leave the heat low, and put on the lid, let it steam till the pap is ready. Hope that helps.
