CUSTARD AND CONDENSED MILK TART
A South African favourite.
- 1 liter milk
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 3 heaped tablespoons corn flour
- 2 heaped tablespoons custard powder
- 125 ml lemon juice
- 1 tin condensed milk
- 2 packets tennis biscuits
Bring milk to a boil with the sugar.
In a jug mix the corn flour and custard powder with a little milk to form a paste.
Add corn flour and custard mixture to the milk and mix well together and let simmer for a few minutes.
In another bowl mix the condensed milk and the lemon juice together.
Place a layer of biscuits in the bottom of a dish and pour half of the custard mixture over.
Place another layer of biscuits on top of the custard mixture.
Pour the condensed milk mixture on top of the second layer of biscuits.
Place another layer of biscuits.
Pour the other half of the custard mixture on top of the of the biscuits.
Crush a few biscuits and sprinkle on top.
Place in the fridge to set until ready to serve.
