CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH IDEAL MILK SAUCE

These ingredients are for a single layer, double up on the ingredients for a double tier.

  • Cake:
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 75 ml oil
  • 75 ml cacao powder
  • 125 ml boiling water
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Sauce:
  • 1 can ideal milk
  • 125 ml sugar
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • Filling and toppings:
  • 1 can caramel treat for between layers
  • 1 – 2 slab chocolates (any chocolate of your choice) melted with a bit of milk or cream
  • Crunchies, Aero, Rollo’s

Beat eggs whites until soft peak, set aside.
Mix and let it cool, boiling water and cacao.
Mix together until fluffy, sugar, egg yolk and oil.
Add cacao mix to fluffy sugar, yolk, oil mix.
Add cup of flour and baking powder.
Fold in egg whites.
Bake on 180°C for 35 min.

Bring to boil, ideal milk, butter and sugar and pour over warm cake. (Sauce is enough for 2 layers of cake so no need to double up on this).
Let the cake cool completely.

Place your first tier on a cake plate and smear with caramel treat, follow by placing second cake on top.

Melt chocolate slabs, pour over the cake.
Decorate your cake by breaking Crunchies, Aero, Rollo’s on top of the cake.

Enjoy!
